Poetry Slams Into Theater – theater in English
samedi 18 février 2023 10h00 – 14h00 CET
NiveauTous niveaux (théâtre) – Intermédiaires à bilingue (anglais)
Taught by Hannah Coyle and Hope Newhouse
Poetry and theater have a long history: from ancient Greek theater in verse, to the rigorous poetic forms of playwrights like Shakespeare, Racine, Molière, to the rise of modern slam poetry performed onstage (or on Tiktok), with poets themselves as the actors. This workshop will explore the intersection of poetry and theatrical performance from Euripides to Kae Tempest. Together we will devise a piece of poetic theater (theatrical poetry?) around a selection of poems, focusing on how we adapt our performances to different texts.
Actors (and poets) of all levels welcome – including beginners! English level – intermediate to bilingual.
Snacks are included!
Workshops are refundable if canceled more than 24 hours in advance, otherwise full amount is due.
